David Shukiar Headshot
The music of David Shukiar has been heard in synagogues, concert halls (including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York) and theatres all over North America and in Israel. David has twice been awarded the Guild of Temple Musicians Young Composers Award, an honor shared by only three other composers in the history of this prestigious award. He has enjoyed commissions from cantors and synagogues from across the United States, Canada and Israel, including a commission from the American Conference of Cantors and the Guild of Temple Musicians to help dedicate a new building at Beit Daniel, a Reform community in Tel Aviv. David has enjoyed being the composer and conductor-in-residence for the Atlanta Choral Festival as well at various synagogues around the country. In addition to publishing many of his choral pieces, Transcontinental has published, Klei Zemer, a book of David’s arrangements for synagogue ensembles for Shabbat. David is also an accomplished music director, having shared his talents with CBS Television, Anita Mann Productions, Holland America and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, and various synagogues in the Los Angeles area. David serves as Cantorial Soloist and Music Director for Temple Adat Elohim in Thousand Oaks, CA, where he leads a 30 voice Chorale, a 10 piece instrumental ensemble, a 60 voice Junior Choir and Junior Cantor program and a 36 instrument symphony orchestra.

Joe Eglash-HeadshotAs editor and contributor to some of the most popular and widely-used publications, songbooks, and anthologies in the Jewish world, Joel Eglash‘s name is synonymous with quality and excellence. Independent musical artists, small businesses, and publishers know him as a jack-of-all-trades editor, arranger, designer, consultant, compositor, engraver, and publisher. He is a recognized authority in the Jewish music industry, both as a musician and publisher, and is a consultant of musical repertoire, marketing, and building congregational instrumental ensembles.

Formerly Director of Transcontinental Music Publications and Managing Director of URJ Press, he has hundreds of publications to his credit. In 2015, he returned to Transcontinental Music, now under American Conference of Cantors ownership, as management consultant, and is leading its efforts to rebuild and revitalize. Joel owns and operates Eglash Creative, a music and design firm specializing in music compositing, arranging, and engraving, for the entertainment industry. In 2005, Joel created oySongs.com, still the leading online source for Jewish music, and sold the company in 2012. His popular T’filah Band songbook series, containing arrangements of liturgical music for synagogue band and choir, was published by Tara Publications.

Before earning his B.A. in Judaic Studies from Brooklyn College, he studied classical guitar with Jeffrey Van at the University of Minnesota. As a guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and bandleader, Joel has led numerous popular rock, synagogue, and klezmer bands, and releases original rock recordings, in which he plays all instruments. He is active as an accompanist, arranger, and composer in Syracuse, New York, where he happily resides with his wife, Cantor Kari Siegel Eglash, and kids, Arielle and Judah. He is a member of ASCAP and GTM, and a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan. http://eglashcreative.com/ http://joeeglash.com/
